I'm off on the 3rd AUGUST till the 10th to SUNCITY for the International dealer convention. We came 5th out of 70 UK dealers in the 2010 Polaris Challenge, so I'm south bound next week, and a BIG thanks to Polaris for the arranging the trip.

March 2nd 2010 -
Just a quick update as to where we're at this year.

The Polaris Challenge this year is to South Africa, this summer, & it may tie in with the World Cup,... who knows?.... The news is.......... Derbyshire Quads are so far in 1st position out of the 70 UK dealers! :)

I got to go to Las Vegas for the 2009 MY launch in June 2008, on the 2008 Challenge but missed out on going to Minnesota for the 55th anniversary on the 2009 Challenge, so fingers crossed for this years competition. Should be cool.

Hopefully I'm now in a position to increase sales with most of the 2010 models now able to be demo'd @ DQ HQ.

We have the Sportsman XP 850 ESP, Sportsman XP 550 X2, Ranger 400, Ranger 700 XP, Sportsman 400, Trail Blazer 330, Outlaw 525 IRS, Outlaw 450 MXR, Outlaw 90, Outlaw 50 and RZR170 all to try before you buy.

Some intersting news promotion wise, we've had two machines in 2 of Ralph Lauren's stores in London since January. I think they look pretty cool in the pictures. Sammi-Jo @ Ralph Lauren Europe was impressed enough to recommend another internal display used the Sportsman 400 as well, so look out for it, next time you in the big smoke.

On a more Corperate note, Jon Harmer, Polaris Area Manager - Southern Division, will move on to pastures new on 4th of March, so I wish him all the best for the furture and thanks for all the support and laughs over the past 2 years, Cheers Mate.

I sure i'll remember some more to add once i've updated this, i'll keep you up to speed as it comes to me.

July 29th 2009 -
Polaris announce the 2010 line up of machine with a few surprises.
Its the Ranger product line up that sees the biggest development with another industry first, an ELECTRIC POWERED side by side Utility ATV, the EV Ranger. All the Ranger products will now have ROPS ( Roll Over Protection Service) Certified roll cage as standard. The Ranger 6X6 will now feature completely independant suspension on each of its 6 wheels and an added storage box between the cab and rear box. The crew is now updated to the newer style ranger that was launched in 2009. the engines have been upgraded to offer more power with the 500 rangers now 500 high output engines 13% greater power than 2009, and the larger XP machines now powered by the 800 liberty engines that have powered the Sportsmans in the past, increasing power by 15%. Polaris have also thought of the entry level Rangers by introducing the Ranger 400. Smaller in engine and physical size than the 500/800cc machine, these machines fit the resticted size users in the side by side market. The XP Sportsmans have also seen further development by the introduction of the XP 550 Touring, and X2 2 up riding machines for those looking to take someone else along for the ride. The later also increasing the work horse potential of this already able utility machine by the addition of an enclosed tipable rear cargo bay, or interchangable second seat in one oufit. There is a big bore 850XP Touring 2 up machine as well, and hopefully this will be available in Quadricycle form, for the European markets. (As yet unconfirmed). The RZR line up includes a faster basic 800, now with a top seed of 60MPH and the RZR-S features a colour change to Pearl white. Entry level ATVs, the Scrambler 500 4X4, Trail Blazer 330 and the Trail Boss 330 feature updated designs and features, including central front Hilliard 4X4 system on the Scrambler and Lock & Ride compatible Racks on the Trail Boss. These Machines will start to be seen from October onwards.....I will keep you posted.

May 24th 2009 -
Twisted my ankle on Thursday running down the stairs from the parts department and cocked it right up did'nt I. Got to try out the new A&E at derby City hospital. No broken bone though it felt like my foot had folded over and my ankle had touched the floor. Gave Bob a bit of a shock, I passed out and came to yelling at him, sorry dude, it was a very surreal 30 seconds. So the bank holiday weekend is a bit of a poor one now. I'm at home annoying my good lady,......... shes throwing a packet of wet wipes at me now while I'm writing this...!  So whats been happening recently, quite alot really as usual. The Ranger 6x6 has gone back to Cannon Safety, I've had it a few months for winter storage and a few drive line fixes, sold one of the Pred 90s on friday, & hopefully sold 3 Trail Blazers a guy in Scotland. Servicing is going mental with the summer coming people are getting the machines ready for the road. Going to be experimenting with some road legal conversions in the next couple of weeks. I've got some kits coming from Quadtech next week for Gary and Tony, who are looking to put their race machines through the MSVA test, to get more use out of them. I've also got plans for some 08 Outlaw 525 IRS machines to be converted.  Lots of trekking happening at the moment with evening sessions getting underway now its lighter in the evenings. We reseeded alot of the worn trekking routes last week, so thanks to Bertie and JB for getting things a little more ridable. A few of the areas namely the oval and the edges of the 25 acres fields, are out of bounds for a month of two till things get established. It will improve the summer sessions immeasurably though. I'm hopefully going to grade a few jumps and burms in the old karting field to make the beginings of a Quad MX track for my son and maybe open it to the public as a practise track for youth riders. Its something I've been wanting to do forever as I see so many people wanting somewhere they can ride and there is just nowhere in the local area available to go......legally. The youth scene is alot easier to handle as kids are'nt so concerned with after market products that make things loud. It would be stock machines to start with and it would be once every two weeks, maybe more throughout the holidays etc. Its early days at the moment, but I'll keep you all up to date as it develops. Eventually I want the first indoor Quad MX track in the UK for winter and Night practise sessions.

April 26th 2009 -
Just a quiet week, started Monday, Leicester council came up for another demo introduction of the Ranger Crew which they have brough two of, to introduce the Drivers to the abilities of these amazingly versatile machines, Thanks to Jenny, Drew and Andrew for coming over for the afternoon, Things got a bit stressed when I should have received 3 RZR-S Quadricycles for delivery on Tuesday, but the machines did'nt turn up till 8pm Tuesday night. I had Graham trying an 800 Sportsman at the time and then these two double stacked RZR-S's turn up to be unloaded. Bit 5p -50p, but we managed to get them off, then I started building them, out the crates. Finished the frames and majority of the build of the first 2 machines at 2am that night, then finshed them and built the 3rd over the Wednesday. Also spent Wednesday fixing 3 trailblazers till 1.30am. Thursday, the lorry arrived to load the RZR-S's couldn't get them on, so delayed till Friday. Friday, the Lorry turned up, loaded 'em and sent them out, no worries. Spent Friday night sorting Richard Rowlands Trail Blazer 250 till 1am, finally got it done after a rammed schedual since he enquired a couple of weeks ago, sorry for the delay Richard, thanks for your patience and I promise you won't be disappointed. Saturday 100 Paintballers, and 30 Quad bikers, did'nt finsh till 7PM, so I couldn't take Richards machine to Reading, sorry dude, I just couldn't risk it, $0$0I have changed my philosophy of life, thanks to my life coach, our village shop keeper, Keith Cragg! I will now - under Promise and Over deliver! - I also aint' working MayDay bank Holiday Monday the 4th, May Half term holiday 26th - 31st, 1st week in August and last week of August, under pain of divorce!!! :( Bless my wife though, she does suffer my preoccupation with everyone else's need and not her own, I'm sorry babe, It will be worth it in the end :) - just ask Alestair Reid if he is happy with the service he recieved? "Everyone should buy their Polaris Parts from You, Your service is unheard of in this day and age !" I just try my best. If I don't answer the phone or return a call when I say I will, it just because I'm busy helping people, I will get back to you eventually, if in doubt:- CALL MY MOBILE, 07967 33 66 24 This is my mobile which I have on me 24 hours a day. If I don't answer, leave me a message or txt me and I WILL get back to you. Your call is important but I may be Riding/ driving, out of signal, or on Business. Sold the 800 Sportsman on the preowned web page and the Quadzilla R100 this week. Sunday had about 30 Quadtrekkers and 25 Paintballers, Big Thanks to Thea, my brother Jamies Girlfriend, for helping out today, you plan for a Quiet day and end up with a crazy one, nothing like the sun coming out to get people in the mood for a blast on a quad bike! Brilliant!!! Anyhowz, Heres to another week!

April 13th 2009 -
Well, time to update everyone it has been a while since i had a chance to add to the news page. Theres been a life time of things happening since last December. Christmas was a blast with sales continuing till Christmas Eve. January started steady but started to pick up later on. Had some Ranger sales in Feb with a couple of Ranger Crews going out for service in the midlands. I sold the first RZR-S Quadricycle in the UK in March, and have now sold 4 in total this year. This machine is untouchable for performance until they release the RZR 850 (or even bigger!) next year. Features include Unlockable rear Diff, Maxxis Big Horns, True all wheel drive, 0-35 MPH in under 3 seconds, 65 MPH top speed. There's simple no better machine to round up the sheep. Parts sales have been ever increasing with sale to more countries overseas. I've sold to Saudi Arabia, France, Finland, USA, and Andora. Along with the faithful UK customers, I thank you all for you loyal custom. I'll try my best to get you the parts you need, when you need them. Ring me anytime 07967 33 66 24 and I will do my best to get you up and running. Pre owned Trail Blazer sales have been strong this last couple of months with machines going all over the country. Thanks to James and Jennie down in lambourn, Neil, Richard and Ian for their purchases. I hope Jason gets to relive some of the Hewy trips from the South African Deserts when he rides the new machine Richard:- Here's to the upgrades! Hyper clutch kit, torquer exhaust, and flat side carb. Keep it simple, keep it fasssst!  Easter has been busy with the treking going mental over the two weeks. Week day booking have been up this year and week end bookings off the scale. Thanks to Tony for Saturdays divine presence, you really helped out matey, how can people start out stupid and just keep getting stupider!? (Now there's a word!) Very apt for the two numpties in the PM group on Saturday the 11th April. Yes, you were a couple of cocks, and yes, I did feel sorry for the group who came with you. Well done to the rest of the group though, you did brilliantly. Thanks to Brian and family for coming over on Monday 13th to look at the Youth machines, We'll get you the right machine for you all, don't worry, he'll definitly want the big one though! I'm off Tuesday 14th April, going into the hills of North Derbyshire, to see all the friendly people of Flagg for the Point to Point horse racing with the family, Ben, Lousie and Carl. Should be cool. Anyway that fills in a little of this years progress for now, updates to follow, Cheers, Jake

December 15th -
Got back from the Polaris dealer seminar which was over Tuesday and Wednesday last week with some news on the 2009 UK line up. Its slightly different from the last couple of years as there is more of a selective range being shown to the UK market. The idea being there will be a bigger stock pile of popular machines to supply demand and special orders available on certain limited edition colours or spec'd machines available in the States. What is interesting to see, is how the prices are being affected by the current exchange value of sterling against the Dollar. Next years RRP on a RZR is now £9499, a £1000 more than the 2008 price! This is the same for alot of the other atv manufactures, all seeing either public increases to their RRP's or a not publically seen, but still felt, decrease in the dealer margin. This means that the best time to buy is now, on the current 2008 prices. A lot of the spec is not going to change between models 08/09, so the deals are more relevant than ever. Sold a Proshark 100 today, I hope Lewis and his family have a good Christmas, he was certainly covered christmas spirit today or was that mud! My goodness, we've never ran the trekking in such conditions as Saturday the 13th. UNbelieveable, the rain that was so insessent over Friday night. The oval is just 3 inches deep all over and had more damage done to it in one day than in 2 years of use! Some serious rolling me thinks, come some dryer weather, I hope!

December 6th -
Got back from my family holiday today at 5pm and it seems the revolution has began! I check the web site to see a massive sale announced and some incredible deales to be found! August 6th 2008 - Well thought I'd better give a verdict on Vegas 08 and Polaris 09. Unbelievable, seems to be the only word to describe the whole experience. The size, scale and products on show were just incredible.  It was a privilege to meet the CEO of Polaris, Tom Tiller. The city is everything the films and people say, just non stop and larger than life. Excess is the name of the game, everything is bigger, flasher and meater, - the steakes we had at the closing meal were 2 inches thick, big as your plate and cooked to perfection. Veggies? what veggies, they were'nt seen for dust! There were 3200 people fed in just under an hour a half, starter, main and desert, efficiency I have never seen on our side of the pond. And to the machines....... Well it was Polaris's biggest new release of machines in their entire 55 year history. 99% new machines that have been in development over the last 5 years and improvements to pretty much every line of vehicles. The newest machines are in the staple Sportsman and Ranger lines. There's a completely new Sportsman XP with 550 and 850cc powerplants, and a new Ranger HD. The Sportsman XP reclaimes the big bore heavy weight title by now putting out an industry leading 75BHP from the 850 and 40BHP from the 550. They also have the option of speed sensitive power steering and anti kick steering. 2009 Sportsman XP 850  The Ranger HD also has the option of power steering and has self levelling rear suspension, capable of hauling 1 tonne in the rear box! 2009 Ranger HD. The race machines from the Outlaw stable have been on strict diets and shed 7Lb of weight and look super light weight and ready to perform on the track. Redesiged steering linkage and rear swing arm improve handling and reduce weight. 2009 Outlaw 525 IRS 2009 RRP £6399. The youth line up now will feature a Range RZR junior! With a 150cc engine and two seats its perfect for keeping up with Dads new 800HO RZR S, which is a wider better spec'd High Output version of this years new side by side, the Ranger RZR. 2009 RZR 170 2009 RRP £3499. I'll add some more details to this when I have time... but I must say a big thank you to all at Polaris for putting on one hell of a week, and thanks to all at Polaris Britain, Phil, Lee, Jon and Ross for giving us the opportunity to go in the first place, Cheers Chaps! here's to the 55th anniversary trip next year?

Tony and Family trekking tomorrow,  My good wife Liv and our daughter Maddy's Godmother Louise, and our son Noah's Godfather Carl, are going for a trek aswell, (but only if she, Ben and Carl survive a return to Parwich for Irish night in the legion, Congrats on the new House, Ben & Lou!!!! Whens the house warming?!! Bring a brush party??!). All in all, what you might call a good ol family day! Now I just have to sort the Trail Boss tomorrow morning, fix a melted Sawtooth Clutch, change an abnormally worn steering bearing on a Trail Blazer, get some new togs and get myself Gatwick Bound!!! Richard delivered the 50 to its new home the day after his 62 birthday on Thursday, set off at 5am to miss the traffic, think he missed everyone at the time of the day!
